Steven Duncan Profile

To say 6'5 225 pound quarterback Steven Duncan had a great weekend would be an understatement. The 2016 prospect is one of the top quarterback prospects in the state in his class and he showed exactly why in his most recent game.

On Friday night Duncan and his Ashley Ridge squad defeated Fort Dorchester. Despite the loss to Duncan and company Fort Dorchester on Saturday was named the #1 seed heading into the AAAA Division 1 playoffs. He talked about how things went for him on Friday night against the Patriots.

"Friday we beat Fort Dorchester who had the number one defense in the state. I was 19-22 for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns. We had great offensive line play the whole night."

So were he and his Ashley Ridge team feeling after pulling off the upset?

"It does give us confidence but we can't live off of that win. The game is now behind us. Hillcrest is a good football team as well and we cannot take them lightly."

Duncan and Ashley Ridge will travel to Hillcrest this Friday in round one of the AAAA Division 1 playoffs. We saw Hillcrest play last week and we may very well check out the matchup this Friday to see Duncan and Ashley Ridge in action.

His updated season stats thus far are 2,358 passing yards with 23 touchdowns.

After beating Fort Dorchester on Friday night Duncan was up at 5am to take a recruiting visit to North Carolina State University. He gave us the rundown on how his trip went to Raleigh.

"Overall the trip was great! The campus was beautiful and I love the facilities they have to offer their athletes."

The 2016 standout also got some time to talk with the Wolfpack coaches while he was there as well.

"I was able to talk to coach Kitchings my recruiting coach. We talked about the quarterback situation and what academics they have to offer."

Asked what aspect of his visit he'd deem his favorite he had this to say, "The best part of visiting NC State was the ability to witness how the student body and the people in the area and around the country care about NC State football and support them no matter what the situation is."

We'll have more updates with Duncan as his recruitment continues to heat up so keep it right here with SCPrepNation.com!
