CB Chris Smith Looking For Things To Pick Up

It has only been 2 weeks since we last had an update with 2016 South Pointe cornerback Chris Smith. All Smith has done with his South Pointe teammates is win another AAA state championship. We caught up with Smith to talk about the game, his thoughts on winning state, and what new schools are on his radar in this FREE quick hitter.

Chris Smith Profile

2016 South Pointe cornerback Chris Smith made some huge plays during the season for the Stallions and schools are already taking a look at the talented prospect with collegiate and NFL bloodlines from the talent laden Rock Hill area. The 6'0 170 pound prospect talked about winning the AAA state championship and more in this free quick hitter.

So how does it feel to win a state title?

"It feels great! You get lots of respect."

Smith says in the victory over Hartsville during the state championship game he didn't get many balls thrown his way but he still managed "3 tackles and had a couple key returns" for the Stallions.

Smith says in terms of recruiting he's open to hearing from anybody that wants to recruit him still but he's reached out to East Carolina, Kansas, and Kansas State since our last update with him.

Looking for that first offer Smith told us what his next step is in the process.

"I'm taking this week off I was pretty banged up so next week I'll start back grinding."

Smith played multiple positions for the Stallions lining up at cornerback, safety, and wide receiver. He made plays for his team en route to the state championship and we expect his recruitment to start taking off once his film starts to make the rounds and he also shows well on the camp circuit this off season.
