In some breaking news 2015 Dutch Fork running back Matt Colburn was given some rather disheartening news this morning from the Louisville coaching staff. The Cardinals informed Colburn that they will not honor their scholarship offer to him and suggest that he possibly greyshirt.
One reason given were recent late commitments and the Cardinals losing some players declaring for the NFL draft at other positions and a need to fill those other positions rather than at running back. Colburn committed to Louisville back in June and never wavered from that commitment despite other schools trying early on to still recruit him.
Colburn and his Dutch Fork coaches are scrambling to reach out to other programs to see if there are any spots open to accommodate him with National Signing Day less than 2 days away. The 2015 prospect was the offensive MVP at The Shrine Bowl and was also named Mr. Football here in the state of South Carolina after a dominant career for Dutch Fork.
We'll have more about this breaking news and I will have an editorial piece about the situation later so stay tuned.
