Early Push For '18 WR Gregory Starts At Home

It didn't take us long to identify the talent and potential of 2018 Byrnes WR Demarcus Gregory (6'3 185). After a season with a nagging hip injury sidelining him Gregory has healed up and he's ready to resume his path to stardom next year as a sophomore. Inside we give you the scoop on what camps he'll attend to help spark his recruitment even more after missing extended time due to injury.

Demarcus Gregory Profile

It won't be long before the rest of the top schools start coming by Byrnes High School. One prospect we feel may be the center of those visits is 2018 wide receiver Demarcus Gregory. A legit 6'3 185 pounds Gregory oozes with potential and upside. Although he didn't get on the field much during his freshman season due to a nagging hip injury the Rebels will look to Gregory to step in with the graduation of Tavin Richardson and Braylin Collins this year.

The 2018 prospect comes and talks with us on a regular basis and he shared the most recent developments with us this past week.

"Clemson and South Carolina have been in touch lately."

So what have the two in-state powers said to the freshman from Byrnes early on?

"Clemson has been saying they want me to come to their camp this summer. There hasn't been just one recruiter in general but they have been sending me a lot of mail saying they want to see me at camp this summer."

"South Carolina has been saying the same thing. That they want to see me at camp this summer so they can talk more with me and evaluate me."

So is either school pushing hard than their arch-rivals at this point for Gregory?

"No sir, it's probably about the same right now since they both keep saying they want me to come to their camp."

Other schools that will get camp visits from the 6'3 185 pound Gregory are Virginia Tech and UCF.

His work in the weight room has produced a new max on the bench press of 225 pounds which considering that he's only a freshman should speak to the upside this young man has moving forward.

We'll talk more with Gregory as he plans on hitting the camp and combine circuit this off season to help boost his stock to help make up for the time he wasn't able to play this past season due to that hip injury. Stay tuned here on SCPrepNation.com!
