As the Christ Church Cavaliers marched on to an unprecedented 4th straight state championship this season one of their top prospects was junior wide receiver Braxton Westfield. A big receiver at 6'3 185 pounds Westfield continues to hear from a number of schools but a pair of programs are really making a push as of late he informed us.
"I've been getting some intense interest from East Carolina and Georgia Southern over the past month. I feel like ECU and Georgia Southern may be close to offering. I went up there for a visit this past weekend. Then I plan on going to Georgia Southern on my birthday and I feel like they will offer then."
Westfield says Western Carolina is another program that he's had contact with as of late. He shared with us what his upcoming plans are as well.
"I know I'm going to an Auburn camp, the 2015 Football Skills Showcase by Elite Position Training at Spartanburg High on April 18th, and the All-State combine on the 25th."
For his junior season Westfield says he had over 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns for the Cavaliers as they repeated as 1A state champions again. He was named a 1A All-State selection as well.
