Known to many in the Rock Hill area as the "Tongan Tank" 2016 Nation Ford tight end Hank Tuipulotu got some good news recently in the form of his first scholarship offer. We caught up with the 6'3 225 standout who had over 1,300+ yards and 17 touchdowns last season to find out the very latest.
"I got an offer from Furman!" Tuipulotu messaged us.
The in-state Paladins are the 2016 standout's first offer and he talked about it and more with us.
So how did it feel to land his first offer?
"It feels great! It's a huge weight off my shoulders. Tim Sorrells offered and he talked to my dad because I was at school so I don't know exactly what was said."
Other schools who've been showing Tuipulotu plenty of interest as of late are from the southeast region as well.
"Well Wake Forest and Jacksonville are very active with me. With Wake Forest I haven't had a lot of one on one communication with them it's mainly been through our head coach."
Tuipulotu wanted to compete in the 2015 Football Skills Showcase in Spartanburg this coming Saturday but had already committed to taking the ACT. He shines in the classroom as well sporting a 4.6 GPA on a 5 point scale.
Expect his stock to continue to rise as he starts making the rounds on the camp and combine circuit as he presents a matchup nightmare for most defenses he faces.
