Playing for Byrnes High School he's seen players he's watched as a youngster nab and pile up offers and over the past few years he's seen his own teammates pick up scholarship offers and finally the day came for junior cornerback/wide receiver Jaylan Foster. He finally saw his hard work throughout his career pay dividends in the form of his first pair of scholarship offers. We've got the details here for you on SCPrepNation.com regarding the very latest with Foster's recruitment.
Last Friday we heard from Foster with some long awaited positive news.
"Gardner-Webb just offered," Foster said.
We immediately congratulated the playmaker who shines on both sides of the ball how it felt to land his first offer and what the Bulldogs said when they offered?
"It feels great! They said that they were coming to see me Monday but first wanted to extend me an offer. They are recruiting me as an athlete."
Asked what he knows about the Bulldogs' program he offered this up, "I know they had an All-American wide receiver in Kenny Cook the past few years. The last visit I took up there they were doing work on the facilities and field so I definitely plan on going back to see what the final product looks like."
This past weekend Foster made the ride up to Towson to check their spring game out and see more of their campus and program. He shared how that visit went with us.
"I'd have to give the visit a 7 out of 10. I got to see the basketball gym, weight room, locker room, and some of the education buildings. I stayed until Sunday."
The 2016 prospect talked about what he enjoyed most about his trip to Towson and what the coaches said to him.
"I'd have to say the spring game was my favorite part. It was good, it was a real close game and they told me that I wouldn't have to come to camp to get the offer from them."
"Offensively I really like that they get the ball to whoevers hot then, on defense they play aggressive."
On Wednesday evening Foster rang us up again with more good news in the form of his second scholarship offer.
"Liberty offered. They called over the phone and said they will be coming by to see me in a couple of weeks."
Foster tells us that Eastern Michigan came by on Wednesday and informed him that they like him as a defensive back and that if he stays in touch that later on an offer will come. He says that many coaches have told him and the Rebels coaching staff that they will come by when spring practice starts.
For now we'll continue to bring you the latest about Jaylan Foster's recruitment along with all of the Palmetto State's other top high school football prospects so keep it right here with SCPrepNation.com!
