Exposure is the name of the game and one prospect looking to garner more exposure is 2016 Union County wide receiver Roscoe Johnson. The 6'2 180 pound prospect has heard from a number of schools but he's still looking to make a name for himself that will lead to some early offers possibly.
Johnson has been flying under the radar so to speak but he played well last season and we saw him in-person as Union County took on Spartanburg High who would go on to win the AAAA Division 2 state championship. Johnson played at a high level against the Vikings and had himself a solid junior season.
"I had around 40 catches for 800 yards and 8 touchdowns last season."
This off season Johnson says he'll key on a number of areas to help improve his game and skills.
"I'm working on getting my explosion better and increasing my strength mainly. I work on everything but especially those two. We don't max out in the weight room until May 2nd and I've made some gains. I should be a 1,000 pound lifter."
His junior season play has sparked some interest as of late with ACC & SEC schools showing interest he says.
Johnson will be headed to the Nike Regionals this weekend and hopes to open more eyes there. For now we'll continue to track the sleeper from Union County High School as he continues to hit the camp and combine circuit this off season.
