A few months ago we could almost sense some urgency in 2016 Byrnes CB/WR Jaylan Foster. Other prospects were getting offered and I just got a feeling that it bothered him a little. Well the hard work and some patience has paid off. Move forward a few months and Foster has a trio of offers to his name now. He landed his latest on Wednesday and told us about it all.
"Coastal Carolina just offered me," Foster messaged us.
The in-state program is the third scholarship offer for Foster and we asked him what the Chanticleers said to him when offering?
"They said they really liked my film and that they haven't decided on which side of the ball they want me yet so they offered me as an athlete."
Smart move in our opinion because Foster plays well on both sides of the ball and can make an impact in hurry no matter where he plays.
The offer from Coastal Carolina joins previous offers from Gardner-Webb and Liberty.
Other schools who've been in touch this past week are "Old Dominion, Citadel, and Eastern Michigan."
One of those schools very well could be the next to offer him he informed us.
"Eastern Michigan said it could come as early as tomorrow (Thursday) or next week sometime."
So how does it feel for Foster to start picking up some offers now?
"It feels great. I'm not going to stop working now because I feel like I still have some more heads to turn."
Spring practice here in the Palmetto State starts next week and Foster will be a senior next season. We asked him how it feels knowing he'll be a senior that will be depended upon to be a leader for the Rebels?
"It's great to know it's finally my turn to try and lead the team back to the state game and win another state championship."
We'll have more updates with Jaylan Foster and other top prospects here in South Carolina so stay tuned....
