The recruitment of 2016 Nation Ford tight end/wide receiver Hank Tuipulotu hasn't been on fire like we felt it would. The 6'3 225 pound prospect was an absolute force for his team this past season racking up huge numbers for his team. Thus far he has just one offer and he's hoping to put to rest some of the thoughts or presumptions that have swirled regarding his recruitment early on. He gave us a quick update regarding that and his recruitment in this quick hitter.
The Tongan standout is of the Mormon faith and word has it that college coaches are thinking that his father's ties to BYU (played at BYU) would seal the deal if they were to offer. The 2016 Nation Ford standout talked about those thoughts and where he stands right now and moving forward.
"I've been trying to let coaches know that I am wide open to everybody that wants to recruit me and that scenario that has gone around certainly isn't the case. I want to hear from all schools and will give them all serious consideration."
Tuipulotu says that he plans on attending some camps this off season and he's got a few in mind to try and land some additional offers to go along with his lone offer from in-state Furman.
After a monster junior season where he was not only amongst the state leaders in receiving yards regardless of position Tuipulotu continues to shine in the classroom as well. He gave us some fantastic news regarding one of his latest test scores.
"I almost forgot to tell you that I got a 27 on my ACT!"
Lining up at both tight end and wide receiver for Nation Ford this past season Tuipulotu had 105 catches for 1,332 yards and 17 touchdowns. Tremendous numbers for a prospect with just one offer to date. Tuipulotu is hoping that those previously mentioned camp visits and continued circulation of his film will add more offers to his haul this off season.
