To say it was a productive weekend for 2016 Wren wide receiver Bailey Rogers would be sort of an understatement. The explosive slot receiver hit 2 school camps and came away wit ha pair of offers. Rogers talked with us about it all in this quick hitter.
On Saturday Rogers said, "I just got offered by Furman after camp, then offered by ETSU after that."
So how did it feel for Rogers to pick up an offer from in-state and nearby Furman?
Getting an offer from a school like Furman was great! The camp was very organized and very well ran. All the coaches were very nice and even called me by my nickname."
He also chimed in on this thoughts about his time with East Tennessee State as well.
"The camp was held in their indoor facility/dome. It was a nice place and the wide receivers coach, coach Rader was a pretty good guy to be coached by at camp. They said they like my routes and shiftiness but what set me apart was my competitiveness and that I was very coachable."
So what's up next for Rogers?
"I'm camping with Charleston Southern and Appalachian State next."
"The plan is to try and get my stock to increase as much as possible over these next few months, and show some college coaches what I'm capable of."
Rogers' first offer came from Lehigh University.
His showing a little over a month ago at the Elite Position Training Football Skills Showcase had us projecting some early offers for him and he's made good one that sentiment early on. Expect more schools to come checking out Rogers as he's got a knack for getting open and the ability to make people miss in the open field. He sort of reminds you of a Wes Welker or Ryan Switzer type of wideout and there's definitely a need for playmakers of that caliber on the collegiate level.
Stay tuned as we'll have more updates with Bailey Rogers as he continues to hit the camp circuit hard to try and secure some additional scholarship offers.
