A name to watch for in 2016 is West Ashley wide receiver T'Qele Holmes. The junior has already been hearing from a number of schools after a solid junior season for the Wildcats. With a pair of early offers T'Qele Holmes is looking to continue his momentum this off season in hopes of landing additional offers to his resume. He talked at length with us about his recruitment and plans moving forward.
"Right now I've got two offers from Coastal Carolina and Columbia."
The 2016 prospect as we said has a slew of other schools taking a look at the 6' 175 pound speedster from West Ashley.
We asked Holmes if he felt like any particular schools may be the next to offer and he replied, "Charleston Southern."
Talking about his game and skill set Holmes broke things down for us as to what he wants to improve on and what his current strengths are at this point in his career.
"My strengths would be my speed, running after the catch, catching the ball with my hands, and my route running. I ran a 4.44 last Saturday at the Shrine Bowl Combine."
"To get better I'd like to be more precise with my route running and attacking the ball in the air."
The West Ashley standout told us that he likes to pattern his game and style of play after a current NFL standout and also told us why.
"Deanthony Thomas because of his speed."
So what went through Holmes' mind when he landed his first offer from Coastal Carolina?
"It was a dream come true and I was excited and very blessed."
He talked about both of the schools that have offered him thus far.
"With both Coastal Carolina and Columbia I really like the fact that I have a really good relationship with the staffs at both schools."
As for next year Holmes talked about some goals he's set for himself as a senior at West Ashley High School.
"I'd like to get 70+ catches and have over 1,000 yards and 15+ touchdowns. I just want to help my team to have a winning record and to get us into the playoffs."
Holmes says he'd like to hear more from South Carolina, Clemson, NC State, and Wake Forest in the future possibly. With a 3.4 GPA his prowess as a strong student-athlete should send more college coaches to West Ashley to start recruiting him. Once they do we'll have more updates with T'Qele Holmes as his recruitment rolls on.
