One player who has seen his stock rise in a hurry after some strong showings on the camp circuit this off season is 2016 Spartanburg cornerback Mike Murphy. The 6'0 176 pound prospect has superb athleticism and potential as a college cornerback and coaches are starting to see that potential. Recently he picked up his second scholarship offer and he talked about the latest that has gone on in this quick hitter on SCPrepNation.com.
So how were his camp stops this past weekend?
"Wake Forest was good, the coaches told me that they will keep in touch with me because they have to go back and review the film. Wofford went very good too. Coach Brown the safeties coach loved me and I was one out of four guys who had a meeting with the head coach. Coach Ayers just talked about what Wofford had to bring to the table and that if I came to Wofford it would be a good fit for me and everything. He was just telling me about their program and I really liked that."
Ironically his high school team Spartanburg plays their home games on the campus of Wofford College so it would be a rather smooth transition playing in familiar surroundings in his hometown.
Other schools who've been in contact recently are Miami (OH), Furman, East Carolina, and Western Carolina. The Bulldogs of South Carolina State are the latest school to offer Murphy joining his first offer from Mercer.
We'll continue to bring you updates with Mike Murphy and other top prospects here in the Palmetto State each week so keep it here with SCPrepNation.com!
