Will Register Profile

2017 tight end Will Register of Chapin High School has been on the radar for a while now but here lately he's hit his stride and mark with college coaches in a big way. The 6'4 240 pound prospect earned his first scholarship offer about a month ago and picked up his second offer yesterday from an ACC school. With two seasons ahead of him Register is trending like a high major target already and that's why he's "UP NEXT" with SCPrepNation.com!

Register's first offer came last month from Charlotte and we talked with him about how it felt to land his first scholarship offer.

"It was very exciting to hear! It is a dream of mine since I was a little kid to have the opportunity to play at the next level. The hard work that is expected by our coaches day by day makes each and every one of us better players."

"The Charlotte coaches told me that I would be a good fit for their offense at the tight end and H-back position. They said that I looked like a strong blocker and also a good receiver."

The 2017 prospect visited Charlotte and gave us his thoughts about their program.

"The coaches were very enthusiastic with the players on and off the field! The new facilities were beautiful. I liked how the campus was very compact and close together."

Register's most recent travels lead him to camps at Tennessee and Clemson recently. He broke down how things went at both schools for us.

"I went to camp with Tennessee and it was my first time ever being in Tennessee and it was awesome. Coach Mark Elder worked with the group I was in the majority of the time. I received the tight end award along with Matt Dotson whom they have already offered."

"The Tennessee coaches said I was quick and pretty mobile for my size."

Doing well at the Volunteers' camp he acknowledged gave him some additional confidence heading to his next camp stop with Clemson. It was there on Wednesday that Register would land his second scholarship offer from the Tigers.

"It's a dream come true to land an offer from Clemson. I was in shock along with my parents when we got the call."

"Coach Brandon Streeter and coach Danny Pearman both talked to me on speaker phone. They said that they weren't initially going to offer a 2017 tight end but really wanted me on their team. They said they loved how I played with an edge."

"Camp went really well I thought. The coaches are great up there and really pushed us to perform."

Register shared his early thoughts about Clemson with us as well.

"I love the campus and the electric atmosphere."

There are other schools who are actively in the mix for Register he informed us.

"South Carolina mainly otherwise than Clemson and Tennessee. I've also heard from Wake Forest and The Citadel too. I'll be going to camp on Friday with South Carolina with their Gamecock Showcase on Saturday."

Prior to his camp stops with Tennessee and Clemson he told us that South Carolina was recruiting him the hardest along with Charlotte. He says he talked with Robbie Liles and G.A. Mangus at the USC Spring Game and they informed him that they were still very interested in him.

There also are other schools that he says he'd love to hear more from in the near future like Georgia, Virginia Tech, and Florida. He plans on attending camps with Georgia and Virginia Tech.

"I'm extremely blessed to have heard word from the schools that I have. I'm always open to any others schools as well.

To better hone his craft this off season he's been working on improving his, "explosiveness in and out of cuts while running routes to create separation."

We'll continue to track Register's recruitment as he's tracking upwards in a hurry. For now check out his testing measurables in the weight room below and find out how to follow us on Twitter below.
