De'Riante Jenkins picking up momentum

Emerging as one of the nation's top prospects is former 2016 Lake Marion High G De'Riante Jenkins. The move to Florida to help elevate his game and stock to higher levels has paid off and he talked about that and his recruitment. With plenty of new offers coming in and some of the nation's top programs showing interest things are getting interesting for Jenkins.

Although he no longer plays high school basketball here in South Carolina De'Riante Jenkins loves his home state. He still keeps in contact with all of his childhood friends and even plays AAU ball with the Upward Stars.

He messaged us to give us the very latest regarding his recruitment which has really taken off since he moved to Florida to play for West Oaks Academy and compete on a national level during the high school season as well.

"My latest offers are from Wake Forest and Utah. I would say that Texas, Clemson, and Indiana are recruiting me the hardest right now. I'm also hearing from Tennessee and LSU too."

Jenkins' other offers include Arizona State, Charlotte, Clemson, East Carolina, Houston, Indiana, New Mexico State, Rhode Island, South Florida, and Virginia Tech.

So what was it like moving from Lake Marion to Florida to help give his skill set additional exposure and how has it worked out thus far in his opinion?

"It was very good this past season. It helped introduce me to a lot of exposure and I got a lot better I think. Every part of my game has improved. I'm playing against good competition everyday in practice and in the games."

With his stock rising in such a hurry Jenkins told us where things stand in regards to his recruitment currently and how things have gone so far on the AAU circuit.

"I'm wide open to everybody right now. I have no timeframe or anything. I'm really enjoying it and being on the Adidas circuit it's pretty cool."

The following day after this interview Jenkins messaged us with more good news as UCF offered him and Kansas is starting to show interest in him as well he told us.
