"I got my first verbal offer from Valdosta State University."
Kennedy talked about how it feels to land that elusive first offer.
"I'm just truly blessed and thankful that my hard work and dedication is paying off. More than anything I'm glad coaches are noticing me more and more each time I go to a camp."
Kennedy says he's camped with Wofford and Tusculum. He received the offer from Valdosta State at the App State/Valdosta State camp. He talked about some of those camp stops and how things went.
"At Wofford they told me to look into playing both sides of hte ball but they are looking at me hard. Tusculum said I should be expecting an offer this coming season."
Other schools are in the mix for Kennedy too he says.
"The defensive backs coach from Walsh University contacted me this past weekend. I've talked to the North Greenville receivers coach at the Wofford camp. I talked to a bunch of App State coaches, they also said they are going to look hard into sending an offer my way."
Upcoming camp stops for Kennedy will include ones at North Greenville, Appalachian State, Valdosta State, and Old Dominion.
Receiving that first offer continues to motivate Kennedy who shared why he continues to press on to try and land more offers soon.
"I want everyone to know my whole life my goal has been to prove people wrong because I'm called the sleeper and I'm going to continue to prove people wrong."
Kennedy reports new maxes in the weight room with a 295 pound bench press and a 350 pound squat. He also says he ran a 4.36 second hand timed 40 yard dash at Wofford's camp.
The Boiling Springs prospect was one of the top performers at the Elite Position Training Football Skills Showcase back in April in an extremely deep and strong defensive backs group and he's continued that momentum on this off season. Thought of as a sleeper he's starting to emerge with tremendous athleticism and speed that can help any team looking for a play maker.
