'17 Wren QB Jay Urich Updates The Latest

As one of the top 2017 prospects here in the Palmetto State Wren's Jay Urich continues to work on his game and he updates us about the very latest regarding his recruitment and upcoming camp stops. Offers have already started coming in for the 6'4 signal caller and he'll add more once his junior season gets rolling. We've got more details inside here on SCPrepNation.com!

Jay Urich Profile

"Yeah it's been great, we had a great 7 on 7 tournament at Newberry. We lost in the championship to Greer 42-36. We went 6-1 on the day."

We asked the 6'4 quarterback what has been going on as of late regarding his recruitment and school camps as well.

"Let's see. Kentucky and North Carolina said that they were going to offer when they see me play at Wren. I'm going to South Carolina on July 25th. I still have to check up with App State about it they are going to offer or not. I have to call them."

The 2017 prospect also made a journey to a Big Ten school with his Wren teammates to participate in a 7 on 7 event there.

"I went up to Penn State and it was great! I got to spend time with coach Rhane. He was really impressed with how I threw. He stood behind me every rep of the 7 on 7."

So what all was Urich able to see and experience while on campus with the Nittany Lions?

"I liked the facilities. Just the total feel of State College. I also liked getting to meet coach Franklin, he's a really cool coach."

Urich says other schools that have been reaching out lately are Appalachian State and Georgia Southern. He also informed us about a recent injury that has slowed him a little.

"I rolled my ankle which delayed my original plans to go to South Carolina on June 12th so I'm ready to go down to Columbia and work with coach Mangus and coach Turk."

He's hoping that a strong showing in Columbia will turn into his next possible offer. Being back 100% healthy again should increase his chances.

"I think App State or South Carolina could be the next to offer me."
