Playing a key role in Spartanburg High School's state championship run last season was 2016 wide receiver Tavaris Scott. Making big plays and piling up big yards was the big time playmaker for the Vikings. Despite breaking a couple of school records and helping the Vikings to another AAAA Division 2 state championship his recruitment hasn't really taken off like we thought it would. He did however get the news every high school recruit dreams of on Tuesday.
"Tusculum just offered me," Scott messaged us early Tuesday.
So how did the 2016 prospect feel when he first found out?
"Man it feels great!"
Scott says Tusculum has been recruiting him for a while now and he was elated to get the offer from them. They aren't the only programs currently in the mix for Scott he informed us though.
"I'm also hearing from North Greenville, Presbyterian, and UAB."
He caught us up to speed with the latest regarding his team this off season and what he's been working hardest on to improve when it comes to his game as a wide receiver.
"7 on 7 has been good. We lost our last one in the championship game. And I've been working on my route running and speed."
After receiving the offer Scott says he'll take a visit to Tusculum along with some other schools this coming season.
"Yeah I'm going to Tusculum and I'm going to one of Presbyterian's games and one of North Greenville's games. I also have a few more visits too. Charleston Southern and Appalachian State."
