South Carolina Pigskin Prep Announces 2002 Staff
As the season approaches for 2002 and everyone is ready for anything and everything football, we are pleased to announce some of the people that are going to help SC Pigskin Prep the best coverage on the net fro South Carolina Football News.
In the day and weeks ahead, we are going to feature more articles and information by our staff and a little less from me. I am excited about the group of people that have volunteered to help and about the level of knowledge they bring to the table.
But as my Grandmother always said, "there is always room for one more at the table". So if you have a desire to write and cover high school football then drop me a line and let me know and we will be glad to have you as part of the SCPP team.
Ed Overstreet aka Full Choke
Ed has been my partner in this venture from the very beginning and now he will take a much more active role in the daily operation of the website. He and his wife are GodParents to our children and he is a source of knowledge and football passion.
What many of you may not know is that used to coach this game and was very successful. In the late 70's he won a Florida State Championship as Head Football coach at an Orlando area high school. Ed later left coaching for a career in financial planning but has remained a loyal supporter of all sports over the past few decades.
Ed is a Dorman supporter but also likes to see all the local Spartanburg area teams do well. He has been running the Dorman website for the past few months and is very excited about working more with SCPP.
Mark Jeffcoat aka MJ
Mark is one of the pioneers in SC HS web coverage. His site dedicated to Stratford is now entering its 5th year and he has always been in forefront of web coverage in the state. His claim to fame is that he was the 3rd person to sign onto SC Prep Football back when Dave was running the site in 98.
Mark is a Stratford man with 2 children in the school. He works in Informational Services in Charleston as the Naval base.
Someone said of Mark recently that he has a passion and love for the game that is rare and his selfless dedication to helping kids at all levels makes him unique.
Earl Da Pearl Burgess
Earl was the publisher of one of the first sites dedicated to covering all sports in SC. Palmetto Preps was the leader is sports coverage in the Palmetto state and did a great job promoting kids around the state.
Due to work and family demands, Earl stopped Palmetto Preps when the Rivals Network collapsed last year and has been watching quietly behind the scenes. But now Earl is raring to get back at it. Earl will be doing features on some of the great young athletes out there that will make a difference not only on the field but in the school, community and in general.
Earl and his family live in Spartanburg and attend Dorman games regularly. We are honored to have Earl with us in 2002.
Ralph Morris aka SAHS68 in 95
One of the people that love the game, anytime, anywhere. Ralph has been great to get to know this past year and has really become a great friend. His knowledge of the game is fantastic and his dedication to Aiken County is shown in his site dedicated to all the teams in the CSRA.
Ralph is going to cover the area for us as well as write feature articles. He is also going to make sure that we give exposure to the 2A and 1A schools and that every team has a place.
A graduate of South Aiken High School, Ralph is currently in school working on an advanced degree while working full time. We are glad to have Ralph as part of our team.
Todd Jaeck, sports copy editor with the Rock Hill Herald, joins SC Pigskin Prep this season providing in-depth coverage and statistical analysis from the Rock Hill area, the heart of South Carolina football.
Todd will help readers take a closer look into such prep powers as Northwestern High School, Rock Hill High School, Lewisville High Schools and others.
Jaeck also works as a computer engineering instructor at Clover High School and as a freelance web designer. A native of Tiffin, Ohio, He graduated with a degree in Business and a specialization in Sport Management from Bowling Green State University and earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Winthrop University. Todd is married and has two children. He coached high school football for 10 years and still remains an avid fan.
We are excited to have Todd on board this season and look forward to his thoughts and coverage of the Rock Hill area.
Gerald Doolittle - The Godfather of SC HS Football
The Godfather of SC HS Football, or so said Bob Bacot on SC Prep Football last year in a feature article. I have to agree. His knowledge of the game is astounding, his ability to recall games and facts amazing, and his love for young people and their future evident in his every action.
For over 35 years, Gerald has been using his Doodle's Doodles to predict the outcomes of every game in South Carolina. The formula has yielded the correct winner in 74% of the games since its inception. The Doodle's Doodles High School Power Ratings are currently in its 36th year of existence originating in 1967. They have been a popular part of the Edgefield County newspaper since 1970 and has been seen in other publications in South Carolina. We are now proud to be the home of the Doodles as Gerald Doolittle enters his 37th year of prognostications and predictions
Through the 2000 season the Doodles had picked the winners 74% percent of the time covering a period of over 43,000 high school football games in South Carolina. The exact record through 2000 was 32,040 wins-10,975 losses and-360 ties.
I am honored to call Gerald a friend and excited to have him working with SCPP during the 2002 season.

If this were a real company then we would make Ryan get us coffee, run our errands and do the dirty work. But in
