Greenville Summer Success

The Greenville Raiders were recently invited to participate in a summer passing camp in Pennsylvania this past weekend.

The  Red Raiders went to the Walt Harris passing league camp and WON their division. They defeated 2 time defending passing camp champs and defending Ohio 4A state champ Kenton in the finals in 4 overtimes. The game sounds like an exciting match up.

The coaches leading the Raiders this past weekend in Pittsburgh were:

Coach Jim Sosebee- offensive coordinator.
Mike Dooley- def. coordinator.
Chris Williams- def backs coach
JF Lucas- assistant principal

SC Pigskin Prep Sweet 16 player Noah Whitesides played great on both sides of the ball. Noah was officially offered at camp by the University of Pittsburg. He has offers from Clemson, Wake Forest ,and The University of South Carolina. David Jones is being recruited by Pitt, Vanderbilt and Furman. Noah ran a 4.39 at the camp at the Panthers/Steelers indoor practice facility.

Jordan Sorrells played well at QB during the tournament. There is currently a 3 way battle at QB between Jordan, his brother Caleb Sorrells and Nathan Pepper for the full time starting position. Mario Lattimore caught the game winning TD pass in the last overtime of the champ game. David Jones was good on def as was Noah, Carlos Smith, Chad Crawford, and Zack Baker. Johnnie Powell played well at WR and FS Eric Royaards caught many key passes in the final 3 games.
