Noah Whiteside

Noah Whiteside and the Red Raiders are looking forward to the 2002 season as a chance to take the Raider program to new heights. Greenville opens the season on August 30 at home against Woodmont

Noah Whiteside is fast becoming the top Wide Receiver in the state. Each and every week someone is discovering this speedster in the upstate and looking for a map to Sirrine Stadium to watch the Raider passing attack.

After many years of struggling, the Red Raiders have the locals excited again with dreams of Region Championships, wins over long standing rivals and perhaps a deep run into the playoffs. If the Raiders hope to make that run then leading the way will be their All American Wide Receiver Noah Whiteside.

Noah has enjoyed a fantastic career at Greenville. As a 10th grader he caught 37 passes for 685 yards and 11 touchdowns. Last year he caught 69 passes for 1398 yards and 16 touchdowns. He recorded 52 tackles and had 6 interceptions playing as a key member of the Raider secondary.

Noah will play both ways as a starter this year and returns punts and kickoffs.

He has 8 official offers from USC, Clemson, Pittsburg, Maryland, UT-Chattanooga, Tennessee, Middle Tenn., Vanderbilt, and Wake Forrest. He is going to visit around and explore his college options during the season and then will sit down with his family and coaches before making a decision in the future.

The word from Greenville is that he is a strong USC lean at this time but meeting with coaches and seeing campus' around the South could change his outlook even though most feel he will make Columbia his home in 2003.

Noah is also a strong student with over a 3.0 GPA and looks to be a full academic qualifier.
