Union Hits the Practice Fields

The 3 time defending upper state 3A champs took to the fields last week for Spring Drills.

180 young men turned out for the drills and preparation for the 2002 season. That is an astounding number when you realize that Union High School only has around 500 young men in the entire school. That equates to around 40% of the entire male population playing football for the Jackets.

The first week saw many of the top college coaches in the southeast stopping by to chat with Coach Anthony and watch first hand the enormous talent pool that exist at Union. At the top of most recruiters list are Linebacker Curtis Rice,  Wide Receiver David Smith,  Lineman Eric Young and defensive lineman Jamar Fleming.

Look for the Yellow Jacket to play exciting football against a top notch schedule. October 25 against the Greer Yellow Jackets looks to be a top game in the state for 200m2.
