PF Michael Holmes Headed Back To SC

The race for the state's 2007 Mr. Basketball award just got more interesting with the impending return of South Carolina commit PF Michael Holmes. Holmes will emerge to the forefront as one of the leading candidates heading into the season for the coveted award. Inside's national recruiting director Dave Telep has the story.

Michael Holmes,'s No. 78 prospect in the nation, is on the move. The 6-foot-7 South Carolina native is returning home.

"It wasn't the best for both parties," Oak Hill Academy coach Steve Smith said. "He's going to go back to Lee Central High School and just felt like he needed to go back home for school."

Holmes is committed to South Carolina and the Gamecocks. Taking his place on the Oak Hill roster is 2009 wing Terrance Boyd who transferred in this week from Norman (Okla.) High.
