Rebels To #1 In The Nation?

South Carolina high school football has grown tremendously over the years but Willy Korn and the Byrnes Rebels appear primed to take it to the pinnacle of the national rankings possibly this week. Inside read the latest.

After a loss by Hoover High School(AL) last Friday night all indications would point to the Byrnes Rebels moving up from their #2 ranking in the nation to the top spot in this week's USA Today Top 25 poll. Keep a watchful eye on the Lakeland High Dreadnaughts (FL) whom some feel could leap the Rebels for the top spot.

Hoover was handed a loss at the hands of #11 ranked John Curtis (LA) 28-14 while the Byrnes handled county foes Spartanburg High 55-17. The Rebels are already currently ranked #1 nationally in the Tony poll.
