However, the Rebels cannot look past Clover, if they do, they could fall from the ranks of the unbeaten! That is highly doubtful though, as head coach Bobby Bentley is certain to have his Rebels ready for the challenge. Both teams have already faced some good competition this season, and both teams currently sit atop their respective regions, Byrnes in region II-4A and Clover in region III-4A.
Clover will use a solid rushing attack in hopes of keeping the high powered Byrnes offense standing on the sidelines. The Eagles use a double-wing set, and will try to have long, time consuming drives, and shorten the game. But the Rebels' defense is stout, and they are coming off their previous game with Hillcrest, in which they held the Rams to -17 yards of total offense.
When the Rebels' offense does get on the field, expect things to be business as usual, as the Clover defense will certainly have its hands full with all the offensive weapons that Byrnes is certain to utilize. Unfortunately, for Clover, the Byrnes Rebels are not ranked #2 in the nation for no reason. And even though both squads are undefeated, this game actually looks better on paper than it will tomorrow night.
The bottom line is that the Rebels are in mid-season form now, and have been on fire, on both defense and offense, since that nail bitter in Cincinnati, against Archbishop Moeller. The Rebels will refuse to let another one get that close again.
In the end Byrnes continues their steamroll towards Columbia.
