Blackville Hilda's Troy Brown Sets Record

Most look at him and don't think twice but Troy Brown just rewrote the record books for the New England Patriots on Sunday. The former Blackville-Hilda wide receiver keeps marching on as he will ultimately go down as one the Patriots most revered players ever.

It hasn't always been flashy but Troy Brown epitomizes what makes the New England Patriots such a great football team. His tremendous work ethic and ability to stay healthy has landed the former Blackville Hilda standout another mark in the record books.

Brown came out of Blackville-Hilda a small underrated wideout that caught the eyes of the coaches at Marshall where he had a solid career. He was originally drafted by the Patriots in 1993 and continues to be a playmaker for his team 13 years later. Known to be quarterback Tom Brady's favorite receiver due to their chemistry Brown has quietly marched into the Patriots' record books.

On Sunday night Brown made 5 catches for 37 yards with the record breaking catch coming on his second catch of the night. The catch was his 534th which broke the record of former Clemson star Stanley Morgan.
