Kingsborough was the star of the night and keyed the ground game for the Red Devils who amassed 428 yards rushing on the night. Kingsborough turned in a 292 yard performance scoring 5 touchdowns in the process. The way Kingsborough and the Red Devils performed Friday night it was definitely "Big Play Brian" who brought the Red Devil faithful to their feet time and time again. Scoring on runs of 47, 86, 6, 66, and 11 yards Kingsborough had a night that many will never forget. Capping the scoring for the Red Devils on Friday was Trobias Brown who scampered 63 yards for the score.
The Red Devil defense gave Riverside quarterback Matt Pegler problems all night as they spent much of the evening in the backfield sacking and hurrying the Warrior field general. The results were apparent as Pegler threw 4 interceptions on the night and was only able to connect with Shrine Bowl selection Tray Williams 6 times for 78 yards. Overall the Warriors managed 146 total yards offense as the Red Devils defense flexed its muscles throughout the game.
Clinton (11-1) will now travel to face Blythewood (12-1) in the Upper State Finals next Friday. Blythewood playing their first year of varsity football made short work of Greer 42-10 using a balanced attack accumulating 468 yards of total offense. Featuring class of 2008 standout WR Marquan Jones (Clemson commit) you can expect another tremendous playoff matchup between these two teams.
