Just a year ago Lucas Hargrove was beginning his senior season for Richland Northeast High School. While he was already a much heralded basketball star in the state of South Carolina but he didn't have the same kind of hype that fellow area star Mike Jones of Lower Richland had (Syracuse freshman). One year later Hargrove is receiving big minutes early on in his career as a freshman swingman for coach Jeff Lebo's Auburn Tigers.

Hargrove has in his first four games averaged almost 21 minutes each time out for the Tigers. The numbers you ask? 8.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. Many experts and analysts couldn't foresee the early success for Hargrove but his determination and diligence is apparent now. At 6'6 190 pounds is able to play multiple positions for Jeff Lebo's Tigers and he used that versatility to his advantage thus far. Given his size he rebounds very well and uses his long arms and athleticism to his advantage not only when it comes to rebounding but defensively as well. The Tigers are off to a 4-0 start and Hargrove is a big part of winning ways in Auburn, Alabama. will continue to follow the career of former RNE High standout Lucas Hargrove as he makes noise for the Auburn Tigers in the SEC over the next four years.

Interesting Fact:Hargrove isn't the only South Carolina native on Jeff Lebo's roster. Former Hemingway High School and Prince Avenue Prep star Josh Dollard is a sophomore for Jeff Lebo's team. Last season as a freshman Dollard averaged 9.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. Dollard has yet to play in a game this season.
