"Who's #50?" The question was asked over and over during Shrine Bowl practices and the player folks were talking about was Lake View's own Charles Jones. Jones gave us his own perspective on how he performed during the Shrine Bowl week, "Well I've been trying to do all my work staying excited and getting ready for Saturday. I think I've been practicing pretty well though."
Jones reeled off the schools most interested in him early in the week, "Right now I'm hearing from Hines Community College, Clemson, and South Carolina State. I'm trying to get some more looks this week though so we'll see."
Jones continually made his presence known on the practice fields each day and we asked him what makes him such a standout player? "Well I've got a lot of upper body strength and mostly lower strength. I'm not real fast but I'm fast when it comes to getting to the ball." The upper body strength Jones posesses results in a 405 pound maximum on the bench press.
Schools are jumping in late and ultimately we asked when could a decision possibly be reached. "I'll probably make a decision in January but if I don't get the offers I want then prep school is a possibility."
