Latta, a former star at York High School, continued her trek as one of women's college basketball's biggest stars ever. The 5'6 dynamo flipped the switch for the Tar Heels on Sunday versus #3 Maryland. After scoring just 10 points in the opening half Latta started ripping the nets in the second half dropping 22 points in the second stanza. Her 32 point performance carried the #2 Tar Heels on the road to a 84-71 victory. The win moves the Lady Tar Heels record to 23-0 overall and 7-0 in ACC play.
Latta was the leader but teammates Erlana Larkins and Camille Little also had solid games as well. Larkins had 20 points to go along with 13 boards while Little scored 17 points for coach Sylvia Hatchell's Tar Heels.
The Tar Heels remain unbeaten and are on a collision course with #1 and archrivals Duke when they are set to play February 8th at home. SCPrepNation.com will have more on former South Carolina high school star Ivory Latta as she continues her storied career for the North Carolina Tar Heels this year as a senior.
