Lowcountry teams opt to play anyway

Most lowcountry games delayed due to poor field conditions. Here is the results on a few that braved the mud and muck and played anyway.

On a rain soaked Friday night, most lowcountry football fans found themselves trying to figure out what to do to replace the game that they were going to attend. Only ten of the scheduled forty four lowcountry footall teams actually got to play the opener as scheduled. Coaches and Athletic Directors afraid of ruining carefully manicured fields, rescheduled all but five of the twenty two games scheduled for Friday night in the lowcountry. . Here is recap of the action that did take place:

Fort Dorchester 27 Goose Creek 17

Quick start by the Gators not enough to hold of a young Patriot squad. 10-0 Gator lead halfway thru the second quarter evaporates and the first half ends with the Patriots leading 13-10. Patriots adjust nicely and come out the second half to dominate the game and end up with the openining night win. Outstanding performance by sr. RB/DE Ricardo Sinkler for the Patriots.

Hanahan 16 R.B. Stall 0 Hanahan's standout Henry Richardson leads the Hawks to a 2-0 record in a mudfest at RB Stall High. 118 yards and 2 touchdowns on 18 carries, Richardson was one of five running backs to see action for the Hawks.

Timberland 30 Cross 0
