Pinewood Prep class of 2009 standout PF Milton Jennings
put forth the effort on Thursday night that makes him such a highly recruited player. Jennings and his Pinewood Prep squad faced Prince Avenue Prep in a big showdown and Jennings powered his team with everything he had. In the end though it just wasn't enough as Prince Avenue Prep used a balanced attack to defeat Jennings and company 77-71 with the difference in the game decided in the last quarter.
Scoring 29 points in the loss Jennings lead his team again. At 6'8 195 pounds he still has plenty of time for his body to grow and develop even further and college coaches have already taken notice. The schools showing early interest in Jennings are Clemson, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Recently Jennings surpassed the 1,000 point mark in his career.
Jennings' teammate and fellow 2009 standout PG Kenneth Manigault also chipped in with 10 points. Prince Avenue Prep was paced by Timothy Downs and Roland Griffin who scored 14 and 12 points each.
Pinewood Prep is the defending SCISA AAA state champions. With their record now at 22-4 on the season they prepare themselves for their region tournament starting on Monday. Pinewood's three previous losses all came during the Chick-Fil-A Tournament and the Beach Ball Tournament in which they faced top notch teams from across the nation.
