Lady Cavs Win Upper State Championship Again

Staking their claim as a dynasty in girls high school hoops in South Carolina, Dorman High School went out and won their 5th straight AAAA Upper State championship. The Lady Cavs behind Bailey Dewart will be trying for their 4th state championship in five seasons.

The Dorman Lady Cavaliers (26-1) have punched their ticket to Columbia. Behind AAAA state player of the year Bailey Dewart who scored a game high 17 points the Cavaliers were able to defeat region and county foes Spartanburg High for another trip to the Columbia. The Lady Cavs have made the trip to the Colonial a regular event each season as they've won four of the last five state championships in AAAA.

After a somewhat slow start the experience of the Lady Cavs started to show as they slowly pulled away from their opponents. At the end of the game the scoreboard read 61-50 as the Dorman contingent began the celebration.

The Lady Vikings enjoyed a great season with a closing mark of (22-5) on the year. Three of those losses came at the hands of Dorman. Next up for Dorman will be the winner between Lower Richland and Goose Creek. The AAAA girls state championship game is set for next Friday at the Colonial Center.
