Near Triple-Double Not Enough In Tough Loss

Kevin Garnett was in an awkward position after Tuesday night's loss. His team broke down losing after leading by 25 points late in the 3rd quarter. Come inside for all the details and see where the former Mauldin High star stands in the playoff race heading down the stretch.

Most of the time when you go out and nearly drop an elusive triple-double on the hardwood you're leading your team to victory. That just wasn't the case for former Mauldin High superstar Kevin Garnett and his Minnesota Timberwolves. Garnett and the Timberwolves fell to the Seattle Supersonics 114-106 after blowing a 25 point lead which was the largest in franchise history.

Garnett did his part but he nor his teammates was able to hold off the Supersonics down the stretch. He scored 20 points, had 12 rebounds, and made 9 assists on the night as it went in an unsuccessful bid for a victory in the heated Western Conference playoff race. Currently Garnett's squad is 4 games out of the 8th and final playoff spot with just 12 games left in the regular season.

After the meltdown Garnett had this to say, "For some reason, I didn't initiate and keep us together down the stretch, and that bothers me. We got a great lead, but in the second half I didn't keep us aggressive like we should have." will have more updates on KG and the rest of the former Palmetto State ballers playing in the NBA as the regular season winds down preparing for the playoffs. Stay tuned.
