State Players of the Week

With a week of great performances, it was hard to only choose 1. This week we honor two formances that will make you head turn.

Rashad Hunter

Running Back

South Aiken

No one ever told him it would be easy......... After a 40 carry, 253 yard performance last week, Hunter further secured himself among some prolific company this week with a 43 carry, 309 yard performance in South Aiken's 24-21 overtime win against Airport high school.

With 562 yards in the bank after only two games, Rashad seems well on pace to obliterate his junior mark of 1559 yards set last season and perhaps lead South Aiken towards the promise land of playoff glory for the first time since 1995 and towards their first winning record since 1992.

It's an awfully big load for one set of legs to carry, but Hunter has been up to the task so far and he maintain's that his number one goal is to lead South Aiken to the playoffs and let any individual honors take care of themselves.

It's not an easy task to undertake, but it's a job that Rashad wants and a job that he has performed well so far during 2002. For his performance this week, Rashad Hunter has been named the SCPgskinPrep Statewide Player of the Week.
