Carolina Celtics Are Undefeated In 2007

South Carolina AAU teams are on a roll. We've featured Team Truth already but nobody's hotter right now than the Carolina Celtics. The Celtics have competed in 3 tourneys thus far in 2007 and have yet to taste defeat. Come inside for a look at a talented group of young men assembled by Jonathan Campbell and Steve McNeely.

Yes the AAU season is still quite young but not many teams can say they've entered three tournaments and won each of them. Oh yeah and don't forget to mention that they've yet to lose a single game this season during those tourneys going 18-0. Such is the case for the Carolina Celtics. The Celtics composed of 16 year olds and under primarily from the Upstate of South Carolina have jumped out to an impressive start.

We jump back to March 15th when the Celtics entered their first tournament of the AAU season in Spartanburg SC at Spartanburg Methodist. There the Celtics started their run and ran the table in the Spartanburg Invitational going 6-0.

The next stop for the Celtics was in North Augusta, SC where they competed in the SC AAU Super Regional. Once again the chemistry and talent of the Celtics proved to be too much for the competition as they eventually added another championship to their team's record. Six more games and six more victories for coach Jonathan Campbell's team.

Easter weekend the Celtics traveled to Washington DC to compete in the Charlie Weber Classic and once again the youngsters from Carolina didn't disappoint. Each tourney the competition level has risen but to this point the Celtics have had the answer each time coming away victorious. Sunday saw them leave DC with another championship at the Charlie Weber Classic and primed for their next tournament which will be one of the AAU circuit's biggest.

April 20th-22nd the Celtics will be in Houston, Texas to compete in the Kingwood Classic which has in recent years proven to be one of the nation's top AAU tournaments. It's been there that some of high school basketball's biggest stars had their coming out party and started to receive attention from major D1 programs throughout the nation. The competition level will rise once again and we'll see where the Carolina Celtics stand when they match up with some of the country's best AAU teams.

From what we've seen so far from the Celtics you can expect a great team effort and deep run that may ultimately culminate in another championship for this Upstate AAU basketball team.
