Greenwood High School returned to glory once again last season as they captured the AAAA Division 2 state championship. Part of their success was due to the broad shoulders of tight end Jordan Gary. The 2008 prospect at 6'3 250 pounds busted onto the recruiting scene and is now being recruited by some prominent D1 programs. SCPrepNation.com caught up with Gary to see what the very latest was for this fast emerging target.
Gary recently attended the Clemson Tigers Spring Game. The Greenwood star shared some of his thoughts about his experience at Clemson. "It was great. I enjoyed watching them play. I got a chance to see their facilities and I was just really taking it all in."
Currently Gary says there are three schools that keep in contact more than others. "Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Marshall are the schools I hear from the most. Marshall is probably recruiting me the hardest out of those schools. There are other schools recruiting me too though."
Don't expect a quick decision from Gary either as he says he plans on more than likely waiting until National Signing Day before making a college decision.
"I'm wide open right now to any school that's recruiting me. I don't have any offers yet but there's a lot of interest in me." Gary also informed us that, "Most schools are recruiting me as a tight end, defensive end, or fullback."
The Greenwood star also sees room for improvement in his football abilities. "Right now I basically want to improve my speed and quickness. My fastest time in the 40 is 4.69 seconds."
SCPrepNation.com will have more updates on Greenwood's Jordan Gary as he prepares himself for his senior season. Stay tuned.
