Another ACC school has stepped up early in the recruiting process to express strong interest in having Ellington play for them by extending him a scholarship offer. Which ACC school called on the All-purpose back from Moncks Corner?
"The coach from Maryland called," said Ellington. "They spoke with Coach Brown and told him that they wanted to offer me a scholarship. I don't remember the exact date, but it was one day last week when they called."
The offer from Maryland makes them the second ACC school to offer Ellington a scholarship with Clemson being the other. So far Ellington has collected scholarship offers from Clemson, Kentucky, South Carolina, and now Maryland.
Ellington currently does not have a favorite, but he has been enjoying the early attention from the two major in-state schools. "South Carolina and Clemson have been recruiting me the hardest out of all of the schools that have offered me scholarships. They've been recruiting me about the same."
Although Ellington was in attendance at the USC Spring Game, he still wants to take things slow with the recruiting process. "I really don't have any immediate plans right now. I am not sure where I'm going next."
