Conway QB Dakota Derrick: Busy Summer Ahead

Conway High School's 6-5, 192 pound junior quarterback Dakota Derrick just recently landed his first offer, and is hoping to land a few more in the near future. Come inside with SCPrepNation.com for an update on his recruitment and his plans for the upcoming summer.

Last season Dakota Derrick passed for 2,410 yards, 22 touchdowns, and completed 179 passes out of 279 passes attempted. With the heavy recruiting season underway, things have been shaping up for Conway High School star. SCPrepNation.com caught up with Dakota to get the latest on his recruitment. "It's been going good; I just picked up my first offer from Newberry College," Dakota said. "Earlier this week one of the coaches from NC State came by to see me, and as far as letters, I've been receiving more stuff from South Carolina, Princeton, Harvard, and a few other schools."

Camp season is rolling around and quite a few high school prospects will be busy taking their show on the road in hopes of earning scholarship offers. The 6-5, 192 pound QB has been working extensively on planning out his summer. "As far as how I'm planning my camps, I've been playing it by ear. I'm seeing who's signing who, and who's committing where," Dakota said. "I will be going to a bunch of camps this summer; I have a list of them for you. I'll be going to Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee, and Furman."

The Conway Tigers are now officially into their spring practice, and Dakota left SCPrepNation.com with a few of their team goals for the upcoming football season. "Our number one goal is to win games. I think the other things will take care of itself if we work hard as a team and win games. But, we need to come together as a team."
