Laron Dendy To Sit Out Next Season

Former Greer High star Laron Dendy recently gave us an update on his prospectus for the next season along with his current list of schools now that he has decommitted from the Clemson Tigers. Come inside for all the latest with

Laron Dendy has had a long journey through is high school basketball career. After leading Greer High to a state championship he's made 3 more stops along the way and is currently enrolled at Hope Christian Academy in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The former Greer star shed some light on his status and what his future endeavors will be with

Dendy originally committed to Clemson and has recently decided to decommit from the Tigers. With his recruitment open numerous schools are trying to make headway with the versatile forward. Dendy recalled his most recent list to us, "Right now I'd have to say my top schools would be Maryland, Memphis, UNLV, Arizona, Texas, Illinois, Kansas State, and Clemson."

"I still have interest in Clemson so I don't want people to think they are out of it." Dendy has decided that academics will be his primary focus as he told us that next season he will remain at Hope Christian Academy but will not play basketball. His hope is that extra attention to school work will pay off so he'll be prepared for college.

There is a timetable in place for Dendy as to when he wants to try and make his college decision. "I want to have my decision made by the time school starts back next year."

For now Dendy will continue to play AAU basketball with South Carolina based Team Truth throughout the rest of the AAU season.
