DeAndre Richburg, a prospect that has been flying under the radar, made a big impression during his team's spring practice this year. With several college coaches looking on, quite a few of them couldn't help but take notice of the 6-3, 220 pound DE/SS from Berkeley. Several coaches came away raving about his physical presence/play on the field.
DeAndre runs a 4.6 in the forty yard dash, squats 560 pounds, and has a vertical leap of 32 inches. He recorded 50 tackles on the season last year and was awarded the team's Most Improved Player Award. He will be back this fall and is looking to set the record straight for all doubters.
When asked to describe his game on the field DeAndre responded saying, "My game is real crazy (laughing). I play very intense. I'm one of the most intense players in the game right now. When I hit the field, it's straight up business."
DeAndre is currently getting interest from a couple of local schools, but not as many looks as he probably should. We are certain that things will change once he takes his skills on the road to the camp circuit where the coaches can get a closer look at him.
We will keep you posted as the recruitment of DeAndre Richburg unfolds. Stay tuned for more.
