Mid-Carolina Teammates Head To UT Camp

The Mid-Carolina boys basketball squad is a team on the rise. Coach Zeb Reid has a great blend of talent but what makes it different from other teams is that he's got youthful talent which has already produced for him. Two of his top players (Jordan Harmon pictured) have been invited to the University of Tennessee's Elite Camp.

Mid-Carolina boys basketball head coach Zebulon Reid has something special going on in Prosperity, SC. The excitement can be felt when he talks about his team. That team is one of the youngest in the state but it absolutely oozes with potential.

Two of Reid's top players were recently invited to the University of Tennessee's Elite Camp. Class of 2010 standouts Jordan Harmon and Calvin Herbert will be taking the trip to Knoxville this weekend and learn from Bruce Pearl and his staff. Harmon at 6'8 200 pounds projects to be at or near the top of the class of 2010 rankings in South Carolina. With continued work he should make a splash on the national radar as well. Calvin Herbert is a 6'2 185 pound prospect with tremendous leaping ability and overall potential. He uses his strength and leaping ability to outrebound taller opponents on a regular basis.

For coach Reid and his team it's been a busy week as they've been holding the 2nd annual Mid-Carolina basketball camp at Mid-Carolina High School. With 93 campers in attendance the turnout has been quite successful for Reid and his Rebels.

With a strong core of players returning once again next season Reid's Mid-Carolina Rebels will be a team to be reckoned with next season, make that for a few seasons.

SCPrepNation.com will have an update with coach Reid about how the UT Elite Camp experience was for 2010 standouts Jordan Harmond and Calvin Herbert so stay tuned.
