Springs recently made the trip up to Charlotte, NC to attend the Scout.com All-American Combine at Panther Stadium. It was there Springs ran 4.52 seconds in the 40 yard dash and leaped 34.4 inches. He also posted a 4.3 seconds in the short shuttle. The Chester product had this to say about his performance in the Queen City, "Yeah I thought I had a good combine up there. I was happy with it."
School recently let out and Springs has already hit the road to see some of the schools he's been hearing from. Still there are other visits to make and he informed us of his next few stops as well. "I was at Mississippi State last Saturday and Sunday. This weekend I'll be at Wake Forest and South Carolina."
Being a standout on both sides of the ball as a running back and cornerback Springs ultimately could end up on the defensive side of the ball many analysts feel. However he informed us that most schools are recruiting him as a running back at this point.
Certain strengths Springs feels sets him apart from the rest of the players on the gridiron. "I know what I can do with ball and what I'm capable of when I have the ball in my hands." He keyed on one area that he would like to improve on this offseason though. "I'd like to work on catching the ball more consistently."
Asked if not seeing many passes during games irritated he and Whitlock he replied, "No not really we expect it. There is one team that passes the ball all the time though and that's Blythewood (3A defending state champs who feature Clemson commit WR Marquan Jones). We look forward to playing them this year."
Currently Springs holds an offer from the Duke Blue Devils but he's hoping that he might land some offers this weekend with his trip to Wake Forest and South Carolina.
An early decision won't happen as Terrell informed us that he plans to wait until after the season is over before making a decision. He also told us how he'd like to end his senior season, "We want to go out and win the state championship this year."
SCPrepNation.com will have more updates on Chester's Terrell Springs as the summer continues and as next season quickly approaches so stay tuned.
