08' Intro: Stratford HS RB/WR Asheton Jordan

Last season Stratford High's running attack was led by All-Lowcountry running back, G.J. Jordan. With the departure of G.J., the Knights will be calling on his younger brother, Asheton Jordan. Come inside with SCPrepNation.com to get a closer look at the Palmetto State standout from Goose Creek, SC.

Last season, Asheton Jordan primarily line up at the wide out spot for the Knights. This season he will be making the switch to running back. Asheton gave SCPrepNation.com a little insight on his running style/abilities, and why he feels the Knights will be depending heavily on him to carry the load this season. "I have good vision on the field," Jordan said. "I hit the hole quick and I have the ability to break tackles."

Last season Asheton caught 20 passes for 275 yards and 9 scores (4 receiving, 5 rushing). He has been working diligently during the off season in preparation for next fall. The low-country standout has set aside a few personal goals for this upcoming season. "This season I want to rush for at least 1200 yards on the ground," Asheton said. "I would also like to gain about 500 yards receiving," he added.

A number of schools have been showing interest in Asheton during the off season. We asked the 6-0, 202 pound running back give us a breakdown on his early recruitment. "So far I've been getting interest/letters from South Carolina, North Carolina, SC State, Presbyterian, NC State, and the Citadel," Jordan said. "Coach Steve Spurrier Jr. from South Carolina and a coach from NC State came through during the May evaluation period. The Citadel and Presbyterian came by also. Most of them have been saying that they like my size, and how good my feet are for my size."

Asheton is completely wide open with his decision. He will continue making his rounds on the camp circuit and will begin narrowing down his decision once he figures out the programs that are serious about bringing him aboard.

SCPrepNation.com will bring you more on Asheton Jordan as the summer camp season continues.
