FS Omar Brown: Picks Up Last Minute Offers

With the attention focused heavily on the 2008 recruiting class, many feel it's too late for the unsigned prospects in the 2007 recruiting class. Don't say that around former Berkeley High standout, Omar Brown. Omar just recently picked up three scholarship offers including one from an SEC program. Come inside with SCPrepNation.com for the latest.

Omar Brown thought he had performed well enough on last season to earn a couple of scholarship offers, but that wasn't the case. So out of sheer desperation, the 2007 grad trekked to various parts of the country in search of a college destination.

"I went on a road trip with Coach Moore, the defensive coordinator from Berkeley," Omar said. "We went to Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and West Virginia. We visited about 2 to 3 schools in each state. We went to the University of Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Marshall, Murray State, Middle Tennessee, UT Chattanooga, and several other schools."

The trip was worth the while to say the least. Omar's highlight film was impressive enough to earn him three scholarship offers. "Murray State, Kentucky, and Marshall offered me," Omar said. "I think Western Kentucky is close to offering also."

With the month of August rapidly approaching, it is only a matter of time before Omar signs on the dotted line. We will keep you posted on the finale of this well deserving student-athlete. Stay tuned for more.
