CSRA Top Teams and Performers

The best of the CSRA for Week 4.

CSRA Player's of the Week 9/23/02

The Player's of the Week for September 23rd are Rashad Hunter and Jerome Dunbar of South Aiken.

Rashad earned his second POTW award for 2002 by rushing for 270 yards on 25 carries with four touchdowns in South Aiken's 38-7 win over Strom Thurmond.

The evening's outburst put Rashad over the 1000 yard mark for the season and marked his third 250 yard plus game in four starts this year. Rashad's four TD's were also a career high. Much of Hunter's sucess can be attributed to the consistent play of a strong t-bred line led by Jerome Dunbar.

Dunbar, at 6'3" and 340 pounds, is an imposing physical force and had one of his most dominating performances Friday night, posting several pancake blocks and helping the SA offensive line pave the way for over 400 yards rushing against Strom Thurmond. What made Dunbar's performance all the more inspiring was the fact that he took the feild just one day after attending his mother's funeral and provided inspiration and leadership to lead South Aiken to their best start in school history.

Hunter would be the first to admit that he couldn't run without his line, and with the performances exhibited by him and Dunbar Friday night, South Aiken is well on it's way to one of it's best season's in the past decade. For their performances, Jerome Dunbar and Rashad Hunter have been named the CSRA Players of the Week for September 23rd.
