A Look on the Inside of the Cavaliers - Week 5

The Cavaliers take on another set of Rams this week and Dorman Defensive Captain Lee McKenzie shares his thoughts on the upcoming match up.

So much for leaving the umbrellas in the car this past Friday. It looks like we may have rain every week. I guess I will stick to football and stay out of the weather business. Week 5 coming up and we are still undefeated. We jumped out to a quick lead against Westside and held on for a 27-0 victory.

The second half was a little sloppy but it was still a solid win. As I have said before, I will not complain about wins whether they are pretty or not. The offense executed well early but it seems we got a little complacent after we went up 20-0. The offense did not pass as well as we can, but we will execute much better this week without a doubt. Kendrick ran for over 150 yards in the first half but had a slight ankle sprain and sat out the last half. Brent Rogers got a lot of carries in the second half and played excellent. He made a lot of tough runs and showed some good speed and vision.

The defense played pretty well overall and we got our first shutout of the season. We did not give up more than one or two big plays and I think that's the key with our defense. I feel the defense does pretty well to shut down the long sustained drives.

We have Hillcrest coming up this week and we go on the road again. We need to keep getting better each week as the schedule gets tougher when we get into region play. We had another good road crowd last week and I'm sure there will be a lot of Dorman fans in Greenville Friday night.

We are looking to go 5-0 this week and stay atop the state ranking. See ya next week
