UP NEXT: 2008 Dreher DE Jordan Bookhart

The next player to be featured in our "UP NEXT" series is 2008 Dreher DE Jordan Bookhart. Come inside for a closer look at this rising senior as he prepares to make a big splash on the radar to earn more looks from various colleges in the southeast.

Dreher High defensive end Jordan Bookhart is the next player to be featured in SCPrepNation.com's "UP NEXT" series and the defensive standout is looking forward to generating plenty of collegiate interest this season. SCPrepNation.com sat down with Bookhart to talk about his expectations for this upcoming season and a closer look at the Dreher High standout.

Jordan Bookhart stands 6'3 and weighs 245 pounds and plans to put his blend of strength and athleticism on disply for college coaches to see vividly this season. Already hearing from schools such as Davidson, Charleston Southern, S.C. State, Elon, and Florida A&M Bookhart is working hard to add more schools to his recruitment. Out of those schools Davidson is recruiting him the hardest he told us.

In terms of improving this offseason Bookhart shared with us his primary objectives. "My overall strength was the most important aspect I have been working on this off-season." Asked about his own strengths on the football field already he shared this with us, "My strengths are my pass rushing skills, and my football I.Q. I not only use my athletic ability but I use my mind to make and read plays."

Bookhart also talked about his most impressive game during his career at Dreher. "My best game was my first time starting at defensive end. Although stats-wise it wasn't my best game, it meant a lot to me. We were playing our rivals the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets. LR didn't have a very good team that year, they played us well. The game was tied at 0-0 for the whole game and then in the fourth quarter LR had the ball at one of the most crucial downs of the game. I lined up in my pass rush position and the QB rolled out towards me, and I sacked him forcing them to punt. We took the game into overtime. After a quick score by our offense. The defense took the field. After three consecutive incompletions LR was down to their final play. I nearly sacked the QB causing him to throw a bad pass and that won us the game."

As for this upcoming season Bookhart has set his goals high and has been putting in work to try and bring those goals to fruition."My goals are earning a scholarship to college, have at least 10 sacks, around 75 tackles, and to make either the North/South game or the Shrine Bowl team."

Bookhart is also looking forward to a rematch with the defending AAA state champions. "I am really eager to play Blythewood, because I feel that last year they ran the score up on us and embarrassed us badly."
