08' Update: Spring Valley OL Jordan Mosely

Spring Valley's Jordan Mosely is looking to turn tons of interest into some scholarship offers. The 2008 prospect has the attention of some elite programs in the southeast. We sat down with Mosely for an update on just how things have been progressing on the recruiting front.

Jordan Mosely has the size colleges are looking for but it's more than just size that makes the Spring Valley prospect so appealing to college programs. The 2008 prospect sat down with SCPrepNation.com to talk about his recruitment, love for the game, and goals for this season.

At 6'3 300 pounds Jordan Mosely is an imposing presence on the offensive line for Spring Valley High School. A vast array of schools have already started to recruit him and it looks like that trend will continue with is work on the field. Currently Jordan says he's hearing from, "Kentucky, Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, Marshall, and Virginia Tech." With a number of schools in the mix Mosely also gave us his current top 5 list. "My top 5 is Georgia, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Maryland."

The 2008 stud also talked about his work last season as a junior. "Last year I had 60 knockdowns and 20 pancakes." He also talked about the most memorable game of his career to this point as well. "It was last year against West Florence. We came out sluggish and gave up a 19-0 lead at halftime, but we (as a team) came together and put up 35 unanswered point to win the game. I had 8 knockdowns, and graded out at 85%. That game taught me as a football player how to face adversity and how to constantly believe in what you as a team are capable of doing."

Mosely also gave us what he feels are his strengths on the gridiron as well. "My strengths are my work ethic, physical strength, leadership, tenacity, aggressiveness, and confidence." Given his numbers from last season and a strong offseason (Jordan says he worked hard on playbook retention and his stamina)expect his numbers to jump this season along with continued interest from colleges all over the country.

He hit the camp circuit this past summer and shared his experiences with us. "I went to Virginia Tech's camp and the Nike Camp in Athens. I think I did really well. Overall, I simply gave my all, from respect to just doing all the different drills we had to do full speed."

As for this season Mosely said a few games stood out for him on the schedule. "Sumter and Ridge View. They are the teams that beat us last year and they are two teams (other than RNE) that we consider a rival."

Potential college coaches staffs should take note as he also shared with us his major factors when making a decision. "Academic comfortability, social atmosphere, athletic prowess, how early will I get a chance to play, coaching, and tradition."

Jordan talked about his devotion to the game and what college coaches can expect from him at depth. "I truly love the game. Everything about it is fun to me; from hitting to film study, to the games, etc. I'm also diligent, responsible, respectful, always willing to learn, and I have that burning desire to be the best that all players should have. I'm always on time to all meetings, practices, etc. Lastly, I guarantee you that I'm going to give you my all as a football player."
