New School Recruiting McClinton Hard

Grant McClinton has added some weight to his frame this past offseason but that hasn't slowed the 2008 Spring Valley prospect down any. In fact, he gave many D1 programs something to gawk over in their opening game.

Last week Spring Valley High lost to Fairfield Central 13-6 in a hard fought battle. Spring Valley LB Grant McClinton left it all out of the football field though. Despite the loss McClinton put together a strong performance.

McClinton accumulated 15 tackles (13 solo, 2 assists), had 3 TFLs, and 1 fumble recovery. A number of D1 programs like North Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Southern Miss, and Boston College have been keeping a close eye on him. One school as of late has really made a strong push in their recruitment McClinton told us. "Middle Tennessee State has been coming on strong lately."

Next up for McClinton and his Spring Valley Vikings teammates on Friday are the Lexington Wildcats. will keep you updated on the season of the Vikings and McClinton's recruitment so keep it locked here.
